We started the tour: The “Mirador de Carmen Alto” Cayma traditional village located on the right side of the Chili River and 4 km from the Plaza de Armas. Quiet streets and traditional people, has beautiful terraces of good conservation with stone walls and surrounded by ancient little paths that are still used today. Along the Chili river which divides Arequipa step into 2 parts.
Built in the nineteenth century, has a series of arches with inscriptions of the most important Arequipeños. It has a really privileged view of the Misti and city.
Barrio de San Lázaro
5 blocks from the Plaza de Armas of Arequipa. This neighborhood streets, narrow passages, small squares and large houses is the most representative area of the old Arequipa. In this place the Dominican priests were established in 1538, building a chapel for the evangelization of the natives of the area and prepare the ground to found a new Spanish city. The small bridge that connects the San Lazaro Church today and its square with the rest of the neighborhood.
Admired not only for its beauty but also because it is the central point of the city. In the center of the square is a bronze fountain consists of 3 courses and crowned by a character named “Tuturutu” the story goes that he was the person in charge of warning about any news event.
Built in the seventeenth century ashlar and brick, was destroyed by fire in 1844, but restored 24 years later. The interior of the Cathedral is beautiful, its size being really awesome. Where we find a body brought from Belgium, a Devil who comes from France, an Italian model altar and every corner that will surprise you.
Church and resort company
Raised in 1573, was destroyed 11 years after an earthquake in 1584. The current building dates from 1650. Interior has some 70 paintings from the Cuzco school, also find the wonderful Sistine Chapel and the cloisters, which showcase work carved and sculpted its imposing columns.

It was inaugurated on October 2, 1580, served to house the daughters of the richest families in Arequipa as a place of absolute cloister It remained that way until 1970. On an area of 20,000 square meters was designed as a mini Spanish city.
