Local Guides Inca Jungle Machupicchu
This tour combines the cultural, ecological, social and adventure experiences of the Andes. Starting from Ollantaytambo it will take you to Machu Picchu through an unexploited route that crosses glaciers, typical Quechua communities, mountain passes of more than 4.500m and warm high jungle lands with coffee fields, botanic gardens and adventure activities. Upon arrival to Santa Teresa we’ll be able to recover from the hike with a delicious organic welcome lunch and enjoy a relaxing evening in the hot springs of Cocalmayo.
Our last day we’ll visit Machu Picchu and go back to Ollantaytambo by train.

Activities
Day 1
We will departure from Ollantaytambo. From here we will take a Inca trail that will take us to Pumamarka.
Here we visit an impressive archeological pre-incan site.
After a guided visit, we will continue our trail, that will take us through the valley to the community of Choquechaca, where we will camp for the night, at 3,800m.
Day 2
We will start walking this morning at 08.00am, climbing until we reach Nevad Alancoma and cross el Abra, that will take us to the Valley of Patacancha.
We will head to the lands of Alancoma Chico to have lunch, and our second camping place.
Day 3
We start early in the morning to cross the the pass of Abra Tastayoc, from where we will descend to a community with the same name.
Here we will find our transport, that will take us to Santa María. The descend to Santa María can be done by mountain bike if you wish, with extra costs.
Later we will arrive in Santa Teresa at 1,800m, where a delicious organic lunch will be waiting for us.
In case of the downhill biking, the lunch we be a box lunch.
In the afternoon we will relax at the thermal baths of Cocalmayo.
Day 4
After breakfast at the hostel we will visit one of the ecological coffee farmers in the area.
We will leave Santa Teresa heading for Hidroeléctrica, from where we will head to Aguas Calientes.
A nice and simple road, fairly flat, that runs along the train tracks on the river banks.
Day 5
Guided visit to Machu Picchu and return to Ollantaytambo by train in the afternoon.
